Job summary

FINRA is seeking a Lead IAM Engineer/Architect in Rockville, MD to lead enterprise IAM initiatives from planning through implementation. The role emphasizes Java development within SailPoint IdentityIQ, plus cloud access automation using Python/PowerShell in hybrid environments.

You will design scalable IAM solutions, build connectors, guide testing, and mentor junior engineers while partnering with security and compliance teams on governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with seven years of related experience
• Master’s degree preferred in Financial Services environment
• Experience leading IAM architecture, security, and governance initiatives
• Strong knowledge of multiple communications protocols and security tooling
• Experience with security policy, standards development and incident response

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise IAM initiatives from planning through implementation
• Design and develop Java-based solutions within SailPoint IdentityIQ
• Lead architecture of scalable IAM solutions across hybrid environments
• Develop and optimize connectors and workflow configurations
• Mentor engineers on SailPoint development and IAM security practices
• Partner with security/compliance teams on governance frameworks
• Communicate IAM concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Lead Agile/Scrum projects and cross-functional teams
