Job summary

Semper Valens Solutions seeks a Lead IA / Security Specialist to guide cybersecurity across DoD programs at Fort Meade, MD. The role requires leadership, DoD experience, and a strong grasp of RMF, NIST standards, and agile practices.

You will oversee risk assessments, artifacts, and security controls while mentoring staff and coordinating with program managers and engineers to embed security throughout the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Lead IA and cybersecurity policy development and enforcement.
• Support RMF activities including ATO, control selection, and continuous monitoring.
• Mentor IA/cybersecurity staff and align with program goals.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53, RMF, DoDI 8510.01, FISMA.
• Collaborate across SDLC using Agile/Scrum.
• Manage SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, and risk assessments.
• Support incident response and continuous monitoring.
• Provide strategic guidance on cybersecurity architecture and data protection.
