Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Chandler, AZ seeks a Principal or Sr. Principal I&T Aeronautical Engineer to serve as an integration and test engineer on launch vehicle programs. This on-site role requires engineering leadership, hands-on hardware testing, and collaboration across disciplines to ensure vehicle assembly and testing success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5+ years experience
• Requires an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance
• Hands-on mechanical integration, electrical testing and diagnostic experience
• Experience with aerospace standards/guidelines
• Ability to travel: Travel expectation is 10-20% which requires the possession of, or the ability to obtain, a U.S. Passport for travel
• Experience leading/training other engineers and/or team members

Responsibilities

• Establish Space Systems system tools to be used for program execution
• Leading/directing/performing hands-on mechanical integration and/or electrical testing at a systems level
• Developing/maintaining procedures for the assembly and test of launch vehicle systems
• Developing concept of operations for assembly and testing of vehicles
• Incorporating hardware and/or software design changes
• Documenting & dispositioning hardware discrepancies, pursuing root cause & corrective actions
• Planning and scheduling day to day tasks
• Constant and timely communication with other team members and leadership
• Leading, training, tasking other engineers and team members
• Transferring knowledge to less experienced I&T engineers
• Guiding, mentoring and training other team members, face-to-face, on a daily basis
