Job summary

The Foth Companies in Minnesota is seeking a Lead Hydrogeologist to drive hydrogeological investigations and project leadership across multiple sites, including Green Bay, Minneapolis, Duluth, and Madison, with a hybrid work schedule.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Hydrogeology or related field and have 10+ years of hydrogeology experience, with strong groundwater modeling, field characterization, and regulatory coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Engineering, or closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of hydrogeology experience, with at least 5 years in hands-on field work.
• Experience coordinating field characterization programs (aquifer testing, hydrophysical profiling, groundwater modeling).
• Proven ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects including budgets and schedules.
• Experience integrating hydrogeologic investigations with feasibility studies and regulatory commitments.
• Experience providing expert witness testimony at environmental hearings.
• Master’s degree in Hydrogeology or Engineering preferred; deep bedrock experience and consulting firm background advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of hydrogeological aspects of projects
• Work with project managers to estimate project costs and consult on technical approach
• Develop technical approaches for regional hydrologic characterization of groundwater systems
• Provide project and technical leadership on complex, multi-disciplinary projects, including managing a portion of a project’s budget, scope, schedule, regulatory and contractual commitments
• Develop and implement technical approaches for numerical analysis of groundwater and surface water systems in support of permitting, industrial development and site remediation
• Teach, mentor and develop other members, as well as serve as a resource in the area of hydrogeology
