Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks a Hydraulics Practice Lead – Dams and Levees to build and lead our hydraulic engineering group across multiple US offices. You will guide complex dam/high-risk projects, lead modeling efforts, and drive business development in the national program.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with senior practitioners, and contribute to client relations while shaping the growth of hydraulic capabilities in a dynamic consultancy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in water resources or environmental engineering (required).
• Advanced degrees preferred.
• Professional registration as a P.E. (required).
• 10+ years of consulting experience in dams and levees.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to grow hydraulics engineering within the Dams & Levees practice.
• Coordinate resources across offices to support dam and levee projects nationwide.
• Lead hydraulic modeling efforts (1D/2D/3D) and act as technical advisor.
• Design rehabilitation and new spillways, outlets, and dam structures.
• Perform flood hazard assessments and breaching analyses.
• Serve as H&H SME on risk assessment teams.
• Mentor junior staff and engage in business development.
