Job summary

Harris American in Baxley, GA seeks a Lead Hydraulic Technician to supervise and hands-on build, test, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems and components. You will guide technicians, ensure parts meet tight tolerances, and support production efficiency.

The role requires 4–7 years in hydraulics, leadership experience, and CNC machine familiarity. A HS diploma is required; technical certification or an associate degree is preferred. On-site position with strong safety emphasis.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • 4–7 years of experience with hydraulic systems, including assembly, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a production setting.
  • Extensive experience operating lathes, mills and CNC machines is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities of hydraulic technicians with guidance and technical support.
  • Build, test, and calibrate hydraulic systems to meet specs for pressure, flow and performance.
  • Troubleshoot complex hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
  • Oversee or operate manual/CNC machines to produce/modify hydraulic components.
  • Review drawings and machining instructions for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure proper hose,fittings and line assembly per procedures and quality standards.
  • Perform system pressure checks, flushes and leak tests.
  • Monitor component quality to meet dimensional and performance requirements.
  • Support planning by prioritizing work and meeting deadlines.
  • Promote safety and maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
  • Identify process improvements and implement efficiency/quality gains.
