Job summary

Ashtead Technology in Houston seeks a Hydraulic Technician to lead hydraulic system builds, maintenance, and servicing for both client and in-house systems. You will work on-site and off-site, maintaining high industry standards while mentoring colleagues to raise team performance.

Responsibilities include assembling hoses, testing, fault analysis, and reading hydraulic diagrams. The role requires hands-on expertise and a proactive approach to continuous improvement within the hydraulics

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering / Hydraulic qualification.
• Ability to read hydraulic/pneumatic system drawings and Mechanical Engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
• Experience in a hydraulic technician role.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble, and install hydraulic hoses and fixed tubing to specification.
• Identify hydraulic fittings and threads across various pressure systems.
• Carry out hydrostatic pressure testing, oil flushing, startup/commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose hydraulic systems (closed/open loop).
• Read and interpret schematics and documentation; complete fault reports accurately.
• Manage equipment, tooling, and materials; complete pre-start checks.
• Provide hydraulic expertise and mentor colleagues to improve processes.
