Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Design Engineering Specialist – Hydraulic Installation Expert to lead hydraulic installation design across Resource Industries products.
You will establish standards, mentor engineers, and drive practices across NPI and continuous improvement initiatives. You will develop guides and specifications, assess supplier capabilities, and lead design reviews while ensuring safety, quality, velocity, and cost objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years hydraulic installation design experience.
- Heavy equipment hydraulic installation experience.
- NPI and continuous improvement experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage hydraulic installation design guides and standards.
- Serve as the technical expert for hydraulic installation across products.
- Coach and mentor engineers in hydraulic installation design and integration.
- Lead design reviews, project planning, and development testing.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and participate in supplier selection.
- Lead reliability testing and root cause analysis.
- Support prototype construction and process optimization.
