Job summary

The University of Southern California's Facilities Planning & Management seeks an AC Tech Module C to lead journeymen and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on campus.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and replace equipment, estimate materials, and participate in the Pay for Knowledge program while training staff. A high school diploma and a four-year apprenticeship with EPA certification are required.

Qualifications

• Five years’ minimum journeyman experience.
• Valid CA driver’s license and DMV Pull Notice.
• EPA Universal certification.
• Familiar with city and state building codes and OSHA safety requirements.
• Education: high school diploma or equivalent plus apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and guidance to journeymen and Zone Maintenance Technicians.
• Performs standard air conditioning, refrigeration, heating and ventilation procedures.
• Determines need to repair and/or replace equipment.
• Estimates materials required for specific job components.
• Trains journeymen and other employees in required skills.
• Monitors, adjusts and calibrates automatic controls of HVAC systems.
• Responds to service calls for AC, refrigeration, heating and ventilation systems.
