Job summary

Highland Park ISD in Texas is seeking an experienced HVAC leader to supervise maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of district-wide heating and cooling systems. The role requires a TDlR HVAC Technician certification, EPA 608, and a Class A or B license, plus a valid Texas driver’s license.

Company Description

The Highland Park Independent School District (HPISD) serves a 6.21-square-mile suburban area immediately north of downtown Dallas, including Highland Park, University Park, and part of North Dallas. PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under general supervision, lead the maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment throughout the district. Provide technical leadership, training, and guidance to HVAC staff to promote proficiency and consistent trade practices. Maintain, troubleshoot, program, and optimize Direct Digital Control (DDC), building automation, and energy management systems to ensure safe and reliable operation, occupant comfort, peak system performance, and energy efficiency across district facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED

TDLR HVAC Certified Technician and Class A or B Contractor License

EPA 608 Certification

Clear and valid Texas driver’s license

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques with expertise in mechanical systems and electronic control systems

Troubleshoot complex communication, sequence of operations, and equipment integration issues

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material

Ability to perform mathematical calculations

Ability to diagnose and resolve problems

Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment

Experience:

4 years of commercial ACR experience under a licensed contractor or

2 year TDLR Certification and 2 years ACR experience under a licensed contractor
