Job summary

Highland Park ISD seeks an experienced HVAC leader to oversee maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and operation of district HVAC systems. You will provide technical leadership, training, and guidance to HVAC staff to promote proficiency and consistent trade practices.

You will maintain, troubleshoot, program, and optimize direct digital control, building automation, and energy management systems to ensure safe operation, occupant comfort, peak performance, and energy efficiency

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• TDLR HVAC Certification or 24 months of commercial ACR experience under a licensed contractor.
• EPA 608 Certification.
• Clear and valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and operation of HVAC systems and equipment district-wide.
• Provide technical leadership, training, and guidance to HVAC staff to promote proficiency and consistent trade practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, program, and optimize Direct Digital Control (DDC), building automation, and energy management systems to ensure safe and reliable operation, occupant comfort, peak system performance, and energy efficiency across district facilities.

Job description

Under general supervision, lead the maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment throughout the district. Provide technical leadership, training, and guidance to HVAC staff to promote proficiency and consistent trade practices. Maintain, troubleshoot, program, and optimize Direct Digital Control (DDC), building automation, and energy management systems to ensure safe and reliable operation, occupant comfort, peak system performance, and energy efficiency across district facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED
• TDLR HVAC Certification or 24 months of commercial ACR experience under a licensed contractor

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques with expertise in electronic control systems
• Troubleshoot complex communication, sequence of operations, and equipment integration issues
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
• Ability to use hand and power tools

Experience:

• 3 years' experience in the commercial HVAC field or equivalent training
