Job summary
SCM Service - Controls - Maintenance is seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic to fabricate, assemble, repair, and install HVAC units and systems in commercial and industrial environments in Charlotte, NC. The role requires reading blueprints and coordinates with the Mechanical team to ensure code compliance and safe operation.
Candidates should be able to travel to job sites and work nights or weekends as needed. The position involves leading a small crew for prefabrication and installation,
Qualifications
- Proficient in mechanical construction tasks including layout, duct installation, fabrication, sealing penetrations, cutting, welding, brazing, soldering, bonding, and assembling components.
- Experience with fire dampers, volume dampers, duct heaters, and grille installations.
- Ability to read plumbing blueprints and coordination plans; knowledge of building materials and installation methods.
Responsibilities
- Complete mechanical construction tasks in commercial or industrial settings with little supervision.
- Lead a small crew for prefabrication, layout, and installation of materials per plans and codes.
- Prioritize safety and enforce PPE requirements; maintain site safety and adherence to regulations.
