Job summary

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Physical Plant Services invites applications for the position of HVAC Refrigeration Master Mechanic. This role leads the installation, repair and maintenance of campus-wide HVAC systems and refrigeration units, exercising independent judgment and guiding other HVAC Refrigeration Mechanics.

The work schedule is Mon-Thu 6:30 am–4:15 pm with 45 min lunch, and Fri 6:30 am–11:30 am.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience or training in the installation and/or maintenance of heating, ventilating, or air conditioning systems.
• EPA 608 certification or equivalent; Type IV Universal Certification within 30 days.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to be certified through required EPA programs.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain campus HVAC systems and refrigeration units.
• Lead worker over multiple HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic positions.
• Exercise independent judgment in executing maintenance tasks and ensuring safety/compliance.
