Job summary

Trane Technologies is hiring a Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer to lead development of advanced software tools for HVAC technology. You will architect, code, and optimize simulation apps supporting new product development and tech breakthroughs.

You will guide cross-functional teams, integrate software into engineering workflows, and champion best practices in scientific computing and software engineering.

Qualifications

• Masters or Doctorate in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++, Modelica, MATLAB, and M-code.
• 5+ years of HVAC&R equipment and systems experience, with focus on modeling and simulation.
• Experience developing and maintaining simulation software for engineering applications.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop 1D steady-state and transient modelling for refrigeration, electrical, and HVAC subsystems.
• Maintain and enhance in-house modeling tools with focus on code quality and performance.
• Apply software engineering principles to improve simulation workflows and automate analysis.
• Stay current with advancements in computational modeling and simulation technologies.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to integrate tools into MBSE/MBD processes.
• Lead end-to-end simulation projects, including planning, reports, and stakeholder updates.
