Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic IV to join the Facilities Services team in Jonesboro, GA. The role focuses on repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of district HVAC systems and related equipment across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include supervising Mechanic IIs and IIIs, driving district vehicles, and ensuring safety and inventory compliance. A high school diploma and HVAC experience are required, with EPA license preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years commercial HVAC experience required.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license; EPA refrigerant license required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists in repair, installation, and preventive maintenance for HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Supervises and trains Mechanic IIs and Mechanic IIIs.
• Operates tools and maintains district vehicle and inventory.
• May be on call after hours and assist other Facilities departments.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds frequently and climb stairs/ladder as needed.
