Job summary

Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD seeks a Lead HVAC Mechanic to provide oversight and direction to the HVAC team, operating and maintaining central plant refrigeration, steam boilers, and air conditioning systems across hospital facilities. The role requires 5 years of plant operations experience (hospital preferred) and supervisory background, with a CFC certification.

Schedule is day shift with weekends/on-call; union environment may apply, and Johns Hopkins Health System affiliations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school equivalent is required.
• 5 years’ experience in plant operations; hospital experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Position Summary

• The Lead provides oversight and direction to the HVAC Mechanics
• Operates and maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as central plant refrigeration, steam boilers, air condition systems, equipment and allied facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school equivalent

Experience

• 5 years’ experience in plant operations; experience in a hospital preferred
• Previous Supervisory experience preferred

Licensure/Certification

• CFC Certified

Salary Range

Minimum 33.12/hour - Maximum 54.63/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
