Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Lead HVAC Mechanic in Austin, TX to oversee installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems in a regulated facilities environment. You will lead and mentor technicians, assign work orders, and ensure all systems meet strict performance standards while staying hands-on with complex equipment.

The role requires journeyman-level expertise, EPA Universal certification, and a track record in government or highly regulated settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• EPA Universal Certification
• Journeyman HVAC certification or equivalent
• NATE, UA Star or TDLR certifications preferred
• Experience mentoring junior technicians
• Experience in government or regulated facilities
• Familiar with HVAC control systems
• Welding and fabrication experience

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose, and repair HVAC equipment across systems
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections

Insight Global is seeking a Lead HVAC Mechanic for a leading facilities management client. Responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of HVAC equipment at a journeyman level of service including air-conditioning equipment, refrigeration equipment, HVAC control systems, and more. This individual will operate at a journeyman level, handling complex HVAC systems across a critical environment while also taking on leadership responsibilities. The role involves not only hands-on technical work - such as installation, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance - but also mentoring technicians, assigning work orders, and ensuring all systems meet strict operational requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned HVAC professional looking to step into a leadership role while maintaining strong technical involvement in a stable, long-term opportunity.

Skills and Requirements

• EPA Universal Certification
• One of the following HVAC certifications:
