CoolSys in Portland, OR is seeking skilled HVAC installers to perform sheet metal work, piping, and blueprint reading on commercial HVAC systems. The role requires hands-on installation, use of hand/power tools, and strict safety adherence.

The team emphasizes collaboration with peers, customers, GCs, and subcontractors, with opportunities to lead on projects and mentor junior technicians in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• HVAC installation knowledge required.
• Sheet metal installation and piping of commercial HVAC units.
• Knowledge of plumbing and pipe fittings, and ability to perform sheet metal assembly.
• Ability to read blueprints on HVAC refrigeration, electrical and plumbing.
• Ability to hang evaporation coils and install overhead hangers.
• Proficient with hand and power tools; strong mechanical skills.
• Understand jobsite safety; oversee work activities and enforce safety rules.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provides support on HVAC construction.
• Serves as Lead Technical resource on assigned projects.
• Reports on job status and performance.
• Controls job costs.
• Develops and maintains productive relationships with peers, customers, GCs and subcontractors.
• Ensures use of PPE and safe behaviour, including vehicle safety.
• Ensures compliance with installation policies and project tracking, safety, time and attendance.
• May oversee third-party resources.
• Directs and oversees the work of other Apprentices and Journeyman on projects.
