Job summary

Whalen & Ives seeks an experienced HVAC Install Technician to lead residential installations in New Jersey. The role involves mentoring a team of installers, ensuring safety, quality workmanship, and adherence to codes.

You will install central air, furnaces, heat pumps, and ductless mini-splits, perform startup testing, and maintain excellent customer communications. A valid driver’s license and physical stamina are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years HVAC installation experience.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and train junior installers.
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems installations (central AC, furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits).
• Experience using Service Titan or similar software preferred.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and installation manuals.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and train a team of HVAC installers to ensure high-quality workmanship and productivity.
• Install a variety of residential HVAC systems including central AC, furnaces, heat pumps, and mini-splits.
• Perform startup and testing to verify functionality and safety.
• Serve as primary contact for homeowners and provide expert recommendations.
• Identify and resolve issues during installation to maintain system performance.
• Ensure installations comply with the National Electrical Code and local regulations.
• Conduct final inspections and document results in Service Titan.
• Coordinate with warehouse for materials and tools at job sites.
• Identify best practices to improve efficiency and service quality.
