Job summary

Amgen seeks an Associate Director to lead the Human Data & Computational Biology capability within Rare Disease Research. You will integrate human genetics, multi-omics, and patient data with computational methods to identify and validate therapeutic opportunities.

This role blends deep computational work with strong biological insight. You will partner across disease areas, develop scalable workflows, and mentor team members while shaping data-driven discovery at Amgen.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate or Master’s or Bachelor’s with analytics experience applying computational approaches to biological and translational research questions.
  • Advanced degree required for research leadership roles with computational biology focus.
  • Experience applying computational methods to human genetics and multi-omics data.

Responsibilities

  • Develop computational strategies to support target discovery, validation, and prioritization.
  • Analyze large-scale datasets (genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, imaging, clinical).
  • Collaborate with partners to integrate human genetics into early discovery programs.
  • Establish scalable analytical workflows across disease areas.
  • Present findings to project teams and leadership.
  • Help recruit and mentor future computational biology team members.
