Job summary

Ctrl+ is seeking a senior HPC engineer to lead testing, evaluation and integration of a high-performance computing software stack at our Annapolis Junction, MD site. You will troubleshoot software and hardware issues on HPC systems, manage workloads with Slurm, and automate configuration with Salt and Ansible.

We require 10 years of relevant experience, Linux proficiency, and expertise in HPC interconnects (InfiniBand/Slingshot) and file systems (Lustre/GPFS/Panasas).

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required.
• 10 years of relevant experience in HPC or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficient in Linux CLI and Bash.
• Extensive Bash and Python scripting experience.
• Experience with Slurm and HPC integration.
• IaC experience with Salt and Ansible.
• Familiar with Lustre, GPFS and Panasas file systems.
• Experience with Ganglia and Nagios monitoring.
• Experience with InfiniBand or Slingshot interconnects.
• Experience with GPU, FPGA or ASIC acceleration.

What you’ll bring

• 10 years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (a Master’s may substitute for 2 years).
• Linux command-line tools
• Extensive recent Bash and Python scripting
• Slurm resource management and job scheduling
• HPC integration, evaluation and system administration
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Salt and Ansible
• Lustre, GPFS or Panasas file systems
• Ganglia and Nagios monitoring
• GPU, FPGA or ASIC acceleration
• InfiniBand or Slingshot interconnects
• HPC benchmark tooling

Preferred qualifications

• Jira and Confluence
• Supporting large-scale HPC systems and customers

Compensation and flexibility

$129.35–$142.82 per hour in approximate pay; employer 401(k) contribution is additional.

Compensation: The listed range reflects approximate hourly pay across our compensation models and excludes Ctrl+’s employer 401(k) contribution. Your hourly pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and the compensation model you select. The lower end reflects a no-bonus option with five weeks of PTO; the upper end reflects the Max Rate option without bonus or PTO.

Choose from three compensation models: Max Rate, With Bonus, or With Bonus and PTO. Offers include a projected five-year compensation comparison and a package comparison sheet. PTO and bonuses depend on the selected model and role eligibility.
