Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a full‑time Housekeeper in Worcester, MA. The role supports patient care areas, including cleaning rooms, corridors, and offices, with focus on safety and efficiency.

Shift is 7am–3:30pm, 40 hours weekly, non-exempt, with potential signing bonus eligibility during interview. Applicants should have 4+ years of housekeeping experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work under direction.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes simple English and follows basic instructions.
• Requires four years of experience as a Houseworker and at least two years of project work experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in operating standard housekeeping equipment including strip machines and wet vacuums.
• Demonstrated leadership to mentor and train others.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Employees must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Distributes and monitors the flow of work for assigned staff and provides training.
• Performs duties of Housekeeper including mopping, cleaning rooms, beds, and furnishings.
• Cleans desks and furniture, dusting, and using equipment for floor refinishing.
• Prepares rooms for meetings and arranges furniture.
• Empties and cleans urns and trash and maintains clean work areas.
