Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Train new and existing Cabin Attendants on cleaning procedures, standards, safety, and efficient methods.
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations and coaching for cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, porches, and cabins.
  • Ensure cabins are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, stocked, and guest-ready before arrival.
  • Inspect completed cabins for cleanliness, maintenance issues, missing items, proper setup, and presentation.
  • Monitor high-detail areas such as floors, baseboards, windows, appliances, and linens.
  • Identify training needs and provide immediate coaching and retraining.
  • Follow up on concerns to ensure sustained improvement.
  • Assist Cabin Attendants during high-occupancy periods and with additional support.
  • Reinforce proper use and care of cleaning chemicals, equipment, linens, and supplies.
  • Monitor productivity and help develop efficient cleaning routines without sacrificing quality.
  • Report maintenance issues, damages, or supply shortages promptly.
  • Maintain professional communication with housekeeping leadership and team.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, consistency, and a positive working environment.
  • Communicate performance concerns and training needs to management.
  • Perform additional housekeeping duties as assigned.

Lead Housekeeping Trainer - Cabins

Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Housekeeping Manager / Executive Housekeeper
Location: Unicoi State Park & Lodge

Position Summary

The Lead Housekeeping Trainer - Cabins is responsible for training, coaching, and supporting Cabin Attendants to ensure all guest cabins consistently meet the cleanliness, presentation, and quality standards of Unicoi State Park & Lodge.

This position serves as a hands-on leader within the Housekeeping Department and works alongside the cabin team while providing instruction, conducting quality inspections, reinforcing proper procedures, and helping ensure cabins are completed accurately and on time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Train new and existing Cabin Attendants on proper cleaning procedures, department standards, safety practices, and efficient work methods.
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations and coaching for cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, porches, fireplaces, and other cabin spaces.
  • Ensure cabins are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, stocked, and guest-ready before arrival.
  • Inspect completed cabins for cleanliness, maintenance concerns, missing items, proper setup, and overall presentation.
  • Pay close attention to high-detail areas, including floors, baseboards, corners, windows, appliances, furniture, linens, bathrooms, kitchen areas, and outdoor spaces.
  • Identify performance or training deficiencies and provide immediate coaching and retraining when necessary.
  • Follow up on previously identified concerns to ensure improvement is sustained.
  • Assist Cabin Attendants with assignments during high-occupancy periods and when additional support is needed.
  • Reinforce proper use, storage, and care of housekeeping chemicals, equipment, linens, supplies, and company property.
  • Monitor productivity and help employees develop efficient cleaning routines without sacrificing quality.
  • Report maintenance issues, damages, lost-and-found items, supply shortages, or unusual conditions promptly.
  • Maintain professional and respectful communication with Housekeeping leadership and team members.
  • Help promote teamwork, accountability, consistency, and a positive working environment.
  • Communicate employee performance concerns and training needs to Housekeeping management.
  • Perform additional housekeeping duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and carry housekeeping supplies, linens, and equipment and perform physical cleaning duties throughout the shift.

Schedule

Must have flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and periods of high occupancy as required by business needs.

Performance Expectations

The Lead Housekeeping Trainer - Cabins is expected tolead by example. Success in this position is measured by the cleanliness and consistency of guest cabins, effectiveness of employee training, timely completion of assignments, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to help Cabin Attendants consistently meet Unicoi State Park & Lodge standards.
