Temecula Valley Hospital Inc. in Temecula, CA is seeking an EVS Lead Housekeeper to plan, direct and coordinate environmental services workflows, ensuring clean, safe spaces for patients and staff, and maintaining compliance with hospital standards.

You will train new EVS staff, oversee linen distribution, monitor schedules, and optimize time usage while collaborating across departments to support overall patient care and hospital operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational training or on-the-job training for housekeeping preferred.
• Lead/supervisory experience in Environmental Services preferred.
• Experience in Hospital Environmental Services 1+ year required.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and power equipment.
• Able to read/write English and perform basic math.
• Strong communication and interaction with patients, visitors, staff.

Responsibilities

• Regularly plans, organizes, directs, and controls EVS workflow.
• Assists on-the-job training for EVS staff and New Hires to ensure they become familiar with responsibilities and equipment.
• Demonstrates cost-conscious awareness of time usage by coordinating daily tasks.

EVS - Lead Housekeeper

• Regularly plans, organizes, directs, and controls the work flow in the EVS department and keeps supervisor informed of deviations from regular schedule.
• Assists on the job training for EVS staff and New Hires to ensure they become familiar with the responsibilities in the use of new equipment and cleaning methods.
• Demonstrates a cost-conscious awareness of time usage: continually strives to make the best use of time during the assigned shift through careful coordination of daily tasks.
• Oversees the ordering and distribution of linen so that established par levels are maintained to meet patient care needs.
• Consistently recognizes the overall function of the hospital in view of total patient care: considers the entire scope and ramifications of each situation.
• Has workable knowledge of all schedules and procedures in the Environmental Services Department.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements / Licenses

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational trade school training or on-the-job training to become familiar with all hospital duties and to acquire working knowledge of procedure in housekeeping preferred.
• Experience in a lead/supervisory position related to Environmental Services preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, record keeping, adjustment, and maintenance of power equipment.
• Minimum of 1 year Hospital Environmental Services work experience required.
• Knowledge and understanding of Environmental Services standards, procedures, and functions.
• Has basic math skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and is able to read and write in English.
• Ability to interact with patients, visitors, and all levels of hospital employees in an appropriate manner.
• Good to excellent communication skills.
• Availability to work variable hours and variable schedules including weekends and holidays.
