Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks a certified Pharmacy Technician to prepare, compound, dispense medications and support pharmacists in a high-volume hospital setting. Under supervision, you will perform IV compounding, labeling, dispensing, and inventory control, while maintaining compliance with USP standards and Georgia Board of Pharmacy rules.

Prior hospital pharmacy experience is preferred; candidates must hold PHT and be licensed in Georgia.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• PHT - Registered Pharmacy Tech; CPHT - Certified Pharmacy Tech or PHARMINT - Pharmacist Intern.
• Licensed with Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred; knowledge of GA pharmacy law and automated dispensing systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications and IVs for dispensing under pharmacist supervision.
• Bulk dispense and labeling; ensure correct drug, strength and form.
• Deliver medications to units while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Generate reports to track discrepancies and inventory needs.
• Maintain aseptic technique and USP compliance in IV/sterile compounding.
• Restock medications, manage inventory, recalls and controlled substances handling.
• Train and mentor pharmacy technicians under lead technician.
