Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of janitorial work experience.
• Ability to supervise and train staff, plan schedules, and enforce cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of hospital cleaning practices, equipment, and safety.
• Effective written and oral communication; reliable, detail‑oriented, and able to work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and supervises cleaning activities including floor and carpet care, walls, and patient areas.
• Plans and assigns work schedules for subordinate employees; conducts inspections.
• Trains staff on proper cleaning methods and maintains inventory of materials.
• Monitors cleaning materials and equipment usage and suggests purchases if needed.
• May perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on cleaning equipment.
