Job summary

UPMC Altoona is seeking a faculty attending physician in Hospice and Palliative Medicine with ABFM or AOBFP board certification. The fellowship is affiliated with Altoona Family Physicians, a rural university-affiliated residency program in Central Pennsylvania.

The role provides inpatient palliative care Mon-Fri 8-5, with on-call nights and weekends, plus an outpatient clinic three days per week and care for area nursing homes. Teaching in academic medicine is encouraged but not required.

Qualifications

• Board Certified ABFM or AOBFP
• Eligibility for PA licensure
• Commitment to patient-centered care and excellent interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Palliative service Mon-Fri 8-5, with phone coverage on nights and weekends
• Outpatient Palliative Clinic three days per week
• Provide service for area nursing homes
• Teach in an academic medicine environment as a faculty attending
