Job summary

Reston Association is seeking a Horticulture Supervisor to oversee landscape maintenance across Reston properties, lead landscape crews, and ensure safety and quality of work. The role involves planning, inspections, budgeting, and coordination with residents, vendors, and staff.

Candidates should have a two-year degree or equivalent, with three years of horticultural experience including supervisory responsibilities; knowledge of native plants and landscape practices is essential.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• Three years of horticultural experience and/or training; at least one year in lead/supervisory role.
• Experience in HOA/municipal/parks and recreation setting.
• Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscape maintenance, plant identification, irrigation, weed control, pest control, native plants.
• Experience leading, training, coaching and supervising crews with safety and quality focus.
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and inspect daily/seasonal landscape activities; manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee landscape maintenance across Reston Association properties including parks, facilities, pools, and Walker Nature Center.
• Plan and supervise daily/seasonal work; inspect plant health and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate projects, training, and safety compliance; manage budgets and procurement.
• Respond to weather-related events and emergencies and support after-hours operations as needed.
