Job summary

NST CORPORATION in Lafayette, LA seeks an experienced machinist to operate hollow spindle lathes in an oilfield job shop, reading prints and setting up for reliable production. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader who can train less-experienced machinists, supervise a small shop team, promote safety and housekeeping, and perform confident machining decisions when supervision is limited.

Must be able to lift 30 lbs and bring own common hand tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years experience running a hollow spindle lathe in oilfield job shop.
• Self starter needing minimum supervision.
• Capable of reading prints.

Responsibilities

• Capable of efficiently operating assigned machine.
• Own most of his/her hand tools, micrometers, caliper, indicators, etc.
• Make sound machining decisions when immediate supervision is unavailable.
• Lead a small group of employees in the machine shop.
• Train less experienced machinist.
• Promote respect, courtesy, dependability, good housekeeping, motivation, loyalty and safety throughout the company daily.
• Self motivated and have a positive attitude.
• Able to lift 30 lbs.
