Job summary

Inn-At-Nye-Beach in Newport, OR is seeking a Lead Facilities & Grounds Specialist to oversee historic property upkeep and coastal grounds, ensuring guest spaces remain beautiful, functional, and safe year-round.

Responsibilities include routine repairs, preservation techniques for historic features, seasonal weather prep, and maintenance of lawns, drainage, and outdoor seating; requires 3+ years in facilities or landscaping, carpentry/plumbing/electrical skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in general facilities maintenance and/or commercial landscaping (hospitality or historic property preferred).
• Proficient in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
• Preservation mindset and respect for historic architecture.
• Familiarity with Pacific Northwest coastal plant species and salt-air conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varied weather.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and emergency repairs across guest rooms, common areas, and exterior structures.
• Diagnose and repair minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and HVAC issues.
• Apply historic preservation techniques for original woodwork, siding, windows, and hardware.
• Manage seasonal weather preparation, sealing exterior surfaces, and winterizing outdoor fixtures.
• Maintain records of inspections and safety equipment compliance.
• Maintain lawns, garden beds, coastal flora, walkways, and outdoor seating areas.
• Manage prune cycles for native coastal plants.
• Maintain drainage across pathways, patios, and parking.
• Operate landscaping machinery (mowers, trimmers, blowers, pressure washers) safely.
• Implement eco-friendly landscaping practices for coastal ecosystems.
