Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or allied field related to histopathology including clinical biology, microbiology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology.
• Alternative: bachelor’s with 30 semester hours biology and chemistry (both) or graduate education with clinical practicum.
• Certification: HTL by ASCP; board-eligible paths may apply temporarily if criteria met.
• Must have ASCP HTL certification or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead histopathology team and guide staff in testing and protocols.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot histopathology instrumentation.
• Develop and validate complex histochemical stains and IHC/ISH protocols.
• Identify suboptimal specimens and take corrective action to protect patient samples.
• Oversee workload balance and timely completion of duties.
