Job summary

The Ohio State University Medical Center is seeking an Assistant/Associate Director of the Histocompatibility Laboratory to lead clinical and research activities, ensure QA/QC, and supervise technologist staff. The role requires expertise in HLA typing, crossmatching, antibody testing, and transplantation workflows.

Applicants should have an MD/PhD or PhD with medical licensure or equivalent, and ABP certification/eligibility.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD or PhD in a relevant field with medical license or equivalent.
• Board certification/eligibility by the American Board of Pathology.
• Experience managing histocompatibility operations and QA/QC programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop SOPs and ensure regulatory accreditation (ASHI, CLIA, CMS, UNOS).
• Set goals and an operational plan aligned with OSUMC objectives.
• Assist with budgets, billing compliance, and supply management.
• Oversee staffing, training, and performance evaluations.
