Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is seeking a Transportation Construct Technician 4 for the Flagstaff area. The role supports project supervision, inspects materials, and reviews submittals, with mentoring of junior inspectors and scheduling responsibilities.

Responsibilities include field tests on asphalt, concrete, aggregate, earthwork, and traffic control coordination. A state vehicle is used; valid driver’s license required and certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of highway construction inspection standards and contract docs.
• Advanced mathematics and ability to perform complex calculations.
• Ability to operate and maintain construction equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect minor contract items for compliance with standards and specs.
• Coordinate personnel assignments and provide direction.
• Prepare field documentation and verify calculations for FAST system input.
• Review traffic control and project safety items per standards.
