Job summary

Bloom Companies is seeking a Highway Construction Management Project Engineer in Minneapolis to lead roadway construction projects from planning through delivery. You will monitor schedules and budgets, implement project plans, and ensure quality control while coordinating with clients and teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree with MnDOT construction management experience and 3+ years in construction inspection, plus certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• MnDOT Construction Management experience.
• 3+ years of progressive construction inspection experience.
• MnDOT certifications in: Aggregate Production, Bituminous Street, Grading and Base, Concrete Field, Bridge Construction.
• Familiarity with MnDOT standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Good decision making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point); CADD (MicroStation preferred).
• Preferred: Experience with GEOPAK and MicroStation for roadway design.
• Preferred: Knowledge of topographic and construction surveying.
• Preferred: FE license and PE license.

Responsibilities

• Construction schedule monitoring.
• Project budget monitoring.
• Understand and implement project plans and special provisions.
• Evaluate and document construction operations.
• Complete required project documentation including progress payments and contract changes.
• Ensure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and back check work of others.
• Interact and communicate effectively with team members, clients and other agencies.
