Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive experience in construction inspection.
• One or more MnDOT construction material certifications required.
• Familiarity with MnDOT standards is essential.
• Familiarity with MnDOT standards, specs, and procedures.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; CADD (MicroStation) knowledge a plus.
• FE or PE licenses are desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement project plans and evaluate construction operations.
• Complete project documentation for acceptance.
• Ensure quality control activities for assigned work.
• Complete required project documentation including progress payments and contract changes.
• Ensure quality control activities are performed and verify accuracy of work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• 3+ years of progressive experience in construction inspection
• One or more of MnDOT construction material certifications in: Aggregate Production, Bituminous Street, Grading and Base, Concrete Field, Bridge Construction
• Familiarity with MnDOT standards, specifications, and procedures
• Good decision making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail
• Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point) CADD (MicroStation preferred)
• Preferred Additional Experience (Not Required): Experience in roadway design using GEOPAK and MicroStation
• Preferred Additional Experience (Not Required): Knowledge of topographic and construction surveying
• Preferred Additional Experience (Not Required): Have a solid understand of MnDOT’s consulting expectations and needs
• Preferred Additional Experience (Not Required): Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) license
• Preferred Additional Experience (Not Required): Professional Engineering (PE) license
