Job summary

Crook County High School in Prineville, Oregon is seeking a Head Softball Coach to lead the program, organize practices, mentor athletes, and uphold district standards under the extra-duty schedule.

Starting February 15, 2027, the position is paid on the district’s extra-duty schedule ($5,936–$8,322 annually). Candidates must pass background checks and complete OSAA/NFHS trainings as required.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience at the JV and/or Varsity level.
• |Knowledge of the sport with playing experience preferred.
• |Ability to work with high school students.
• |Effective communication skills.
• |OSAA and NFHS certifications/trainings completed or obtainable.
• |Available for daily practices and games.

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment inventories and care for equipment.
• Set up and schedule practices; supervise schedule.
• Communicate with coaching staff, students, parents, and media.
• Coordinate with Athletic Director on scheduling, finances, eligibility.
• Supervise assistants and coordinate system of play.
• Ensure safety and injury prevention; supervise trainings.
• Represent team and school professionally; resolve issues with stakeholders.
• Attend all practices and games; punctual.
• Prepare and work within budget for athletic programs.
