Job summary

Braintreema is seeking a skilled worker for heavy construction and water/sewer maintenance tasks in Massachusetts. The role requires operating a range of heavy equipment, masonry and welding skills, and the ability to read engineering plans.

Licensing is mandatory for the position and timely renewal may be required. Candidate will work under supervision with potential for lead duties, including tapping mains and handling complex utilities projects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and 3 years of heavy construction equipment experience.
• Massachusetts CDL Class A or B with airbrake and tanker endorsements required.
• Hoisting Engineer’s Licenses 2A and 4E also required.
• Water Distribution Operators Grade III (D3) and Sewer Collection System Operators Grade II (C2) required.
• Employees must hold the required license(s) for the position at the time of hire or promotion.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy and specialized construction or maintenance equipment such as motor grader, backhoes, loaders, excavators, paving equipment, Vactor.
• May act in leadsman capacity and participate in various department tasks.
• Assists in tapping water mains and cutting pipe with hydraulic cutters.
• Performs masonry work at journeyman level building basins, manholes, headwalls and walls.
• Operates less complex equipment when not assigned to the main unit and performs related labor.
• Maintains regular attendance and works overtime as needed.
