Job summary

Amentum in the United States seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator Lead to supervise a team and operate cranes, shovels, and other heavy equipment. You will ensure safe operation, perform PMCS, and maintain equipment readiness to support mission tasks.

Responsibilities include coordinating with a customer, guiding daily tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements. A Secret Clearance may be required for this location.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Valid state driver’s license is required.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and operates heavy equipment to support mission requirements.
• Provides leadership to roughly 20 employees.
• Performs daily PMCS and maintains equipment readiness.
• Inspects, cleans, and performs operator-level maintenance per standards.
• Interacts with customers for movements of materials and equipment.
• Performs safety checks and adheres to regulations and procedures.
