Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Operator to operate a range of construction equipment in accordance with Mortenson safety policies and procedures. The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards, proactive equipment observation, and reliable execution of tasks.

The operator will work with various machines, follow pre-task plans, and support crew collaboration. A valid driver's license, equipment certifications as required, and at least one year of related experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Equipment certifications as required.
• Minimum one year of related experience.
• Valid driver's license with endorsements as required by law.
• Strong teamwork orientation, customer service, detail orientation; able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts.
• Ability to operate equipment by moving levers, shifting gears, depressing pedals, and maneuvering steering wheels; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts/aerial lifts, roller, backhoe, and track crane.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work area.
• Perform routine maintenance, observe equipment operation, and detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
