Job summary

WM is seeking a Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our Lewisburg, TN landfill site to repair, maintain, and optimize heavy machinery across our recycling facilities. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and hands-on leadership with full-time hours Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

You will mentor junior mechanics, handle PMs, and ensure uptime of bulldozers, loaders, and related equipment. Starting pay is $38+ per hour, depending on experience, with comprehensive benefits including

Qualifications

• 6 years of maintenance mechanic experience on heavy equipment
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Be over 18 years of age
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without accommodations
• Pre-employment drug screen and physical required

Responsibilities

• Repair heavy equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, loaders, yard trucks, forklifts, and company cars
• Dismantle equipment and train less experienced mechanics
• Repair electrical systems and diagnose differentials, hydraulics, motors, transmissions and air conditioning
• Perform preventative maintenance per site checklists
• Complete paperwork like work orders and PM checklists
• Maintain and service other site equipment and tools
