Job summary

WM is hiring a Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Arlington, OR facility. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and preventative work on heavy equipment, with an emphasis on safety and reliability across our recycling operations.

You will diagnose and fix systems on bulldozers, scrapers, loaders, and related machinery, while maintaining documentation and adhering to our safety standards. Base hours are Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5 years of maintenance mechanic experience on heavy equipment.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position (with/without accommodations).
• Must successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Repair heavy equipment including bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, loaders, yard trucks and related units.
• Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulics, motors, transmissions, AC and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance per site checklists.
• Handle paperwork and admin tasks like work orders and PM checklists.
• Service additional equipment such as light plants and welders.
