Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic A in Midland, TX to lead fleet maintenance and ensure equipment stays on the rental ready line. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnose engines and hydraulic systems, and mentor junior mechanics in a fast-paced branch environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3 years of heavy equipment repair experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ownership of a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent preventative maintenance schedule for the fleet.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure quality and efficiency standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and trucks independently.
• Diagnose engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
• Enter and review work orders and manage part orders via the fleet system.
• Assist in training less-experienced mechanics under supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and detailed service reports.
