The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic, Automotive, Advanced Journey/Lead to support maintenance of vehicles used for state transportation projects in Alaska. The role offers paid CDL training for qualified applicants and a tool allowance.

The incumbent will diagnose and repair transmissions, drive trains, engines, hydraulic and brake systems across a variety of heavy equipment, ensuring safety and reliability in remote and challenging

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, with repair and maintenance experience.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of motor vehicle engines, parts, and systems, including maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all heavy-duty and light-duty equipment for roads, airports, and vehicles.
• Diagnose, repair, and modify transmissions, drive trains, suspension, engines, and hydraulic/brake systems.
