Job summary

Acelero, Inc. is seeking a Head Start Teacher (Lead Teacher) to lead a Head Start classroom for 3–4-year-old children in Philadelphia.

You will work closely with an assistant teacher, families and staff to promote development across all domains and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment. Responsibilities include implementing a child-centered curriculum, documenting progress, and partnering with families to support learning at home.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework.
• Physical exam and background checks required for this position.
• Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Implements a child-centered curriculum and learning environment for 3–4-year-olds.
• Collaborates with an assistant teacher, families and staff to support children’s development.
• Documents observations and progress to tailor individual curriculum.
• Fosters partnerships with families for positive interactions across home and program settings.
• Maintains developmentally appropriate classroom routines and safety standards.
