Job summary

Core & Main is seeking a Lead Mechanic to deliver high-quality HDPE piping solutions and provide exceptional service. In this hands-on role, you will perform specialized fusion operations in the field, respond to critical repair needs, and ensure every installation meets safety and quality standards.

You must have 3+ years of experience with McElroy fusion equipment or similar hydraulic/electrical systems, and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining McElroy fusion equipment or comparable hydraulic/electrical equipment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of polyethylene pipe fusion equipment, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and related components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepares accurate records on maintenance, repairs and fuel levels of equipment.
• Maintains all decals, safety warnings and company ID stickers.
• Completes work orders for internal and external repairs.
• Repairs power and mechanical equipment.
• Maintains company vehicles.
• Checks and refuels equipment.
• Undertakes complex repair and maintenance projects.
• Reports safety violations to supervisor.
