Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs HBPC program seeks a physician to provide patient care in home or outpatient settings, with leadership responsibilities for program direction and collaboration with Ambulatory Care staff.

You will meet MD and unrestricted US license requirements, VA-approved residency, and English proficiency; duties include leading HBPC, directing educational experiences, and participating in program improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • MD or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US.
  • Residency training approved by VA/ACGME/AOA.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Experience in home-based primary care (HBPC) or ambulatory care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with HBPC Medical Director and Program Director to provide clinical oversight.
  • Provide leadership to the HBPC Program and direct educational experiences for students, residents and fellows.
  • Develop and implement the HBPC performance improvement plan.
  • Advocate for HBPC with VHA leadership and the medical community.
  • Coordinate physician coverage and communicate the plan of coverage to the HBPC team.
