Job summary

Select Genetics in Goldsboro, NC, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the hatchery maintenance team, oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure safe, reliable operation of all hatchery equipment and facilities. You will coordinate with vendors, install new systems, and drive cost-effective maintenance practices.

The role requires 5+ years’ mechanical/electrical maintenance, leadership experience, and a focus on safety and biosecurity within a poultry production environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance
• 5+ years of experience leading or managing employees
• Experience in hatchery, poultry, manufacturing, or similar production environment preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills is a plus
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and supervise maintenance employees.
• Monitor employee performance and provide coaching.
• Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program for hatchery equipment and facility systems.
• Monitor incubators, hatchers, ventilation, environmental controls, water systems, electrical systems, automation, and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment as needed.
• Coordinate installation, startup, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Ensure safety training and certifications are maintained.
• Maintain inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.
