Job summary

Accelera in Kentucky seeks a Lead Harness Systems Engineer to bridge customer requirements with high-volume manufacturing. You will design wire, cable and harness assemblies, manage BOMs and support ECNs, while guiding cross-functional teams and clients to deliver robust connectivity solutions.

The role emphasizes design for cost, manufacturing readiness and documentation accuracy, with client-facing collaboration and 3D modeling using SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical field is required.
• Proven experience in wire, cable, and harness assembly product development and support.
• Experience managing engineering change processes and complex BOM structures.
• Ability to interpret and create detailed engineering documentation and drawings.
• Experience using ERP or PLM systems to manage product data and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer specifications into manufacturable harness designs that meet performance targets.
• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of Bills of Materials (BOMs) from quotation to production release.
• Serve as primary technical interface between cross-functional teams and external clients to resolve engineering challenges.
• Oversee ECN documentation and implementation to maintain design integrity.
• Lead design-to-cost initiatives to improve competitiveness without compromising quality.
• Coordinate product launches ensuring documentation and manufacturing processes are aligned for execution.
