Responsibilities

  • Develop harm reduction training material and data tracking tools.
  • Lead naloxone trainings to providers, pharmacists and CBOs.
  • Conduct research relevant to the Program grant goals.
  • Inform community members on naloxone use and access through outreach events.
  • Organize trainings at OHL and partner agencies as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Maintain updated calendars and data collection documentation.
  • Assist with naloxone awareness campaigns for priority populations.
  • Refer individuals to OHL for primary medical care and treatment services.

Job Summary

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time Lead Harm Reduction Trainer for the Prevention Program. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with some weekends. The Lead Harm Reduction Trainer is responsible for the research, development, and delivery of harm reduction/overdose prevention training programs to community partners and organizations in New Orleans, Lake Charles and Bayou Vista areas, conducting street outreach, referring individuals to OHL services or other appropriate community resources, and representing the Prevention Program at community outreach, as determined by the Project Manager.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Develop harm reduction training material and data tracking tools
  • Leads various community and OHL client naloxone trainings to providers, pharmacists and CBOs;
  • conduct ongoing regular research relevant to the Program grant goals;
  • conducts QA to harm reduction trainer;
  • inform community members on naloxone use and access through community outreach events;
  • conduct street outreach, outreach events, trainings at OHL, trainings at partner agencies, as directed by Program Manager;
  • conduct data entry and gathering as directed by Program Manager;
  • assist in the development and implementation of a naloxone awareness campaign to priority populations (Pharmacists, Prescribers, Community Members, and OHL Clients);
  • maintain updated work calendar, naloxone training calendar, and outreach calendar;
  • maintain comprehensive documentation of all activities for data collection;
  • present potential partnerships with Program Manager for approval;
  • responsible for administrative tasks as directed by Program Manager;
  • responsible for training preparation, facilitation, and evaluation;
  • refer individuals to the OHL for primary medical care and treatment services;
  • refer individuals to the resource guide as needed;
  • assist with special projects as directed by the Program Manager;
  • organize workload to complete responsibilities in an appropriate and timely manner;
