Tata Consultancy Services Limited in Mountain View, CA is seeking an experienced hardware engineer to lead DV, FA, and test strategy across multiple hardware domains. You will manage lab operations, provide hands-on testing, and drive post-launch quality improvements while coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring timely execution of thorough test plans.

The role emphasizes deep hardware/system understanding, program management, and hands-on lab experience with test equipment.

Qualifications

• 10 years minimum experience with hardware bring-up, design validation, manufacturing, and troubleshooting.
• Deep understanding of computer systems (electrical, functional, logical, software, mechanical, thermal).
• Experience applying hardware evaluation methodologies (lab measurements, data analysis, infra setup).
• Strong program management skills with ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
• Hands-on hardware assembly, test infra setup, electrical/functional testing, RCA.

Responsibilities

• Lead Design Verification (DV): create, execute, and report comprehensive test plans across multiple hardware domains.
• Manage Failure Analysis (FA): primary engineering contact for hardware FA across lifecycle.
• Drive Manufacturing Test Strategy: plan and oversee FT strategies (FP/ICT, BFT, Run-in).
• Oversee Lab Operations: manage hardware labs, allocation, configuration, and rework processes.
• Cross-Functional Testing Support: assist Electrical, Functional, RF, Thermal testing initiatives.
• Support Manufacturing Builds: ensure materials readiness and resolve FA issues.
• Lead Hardware Sustaining Efforts: post-launch quality, EoL responses, PRQ initiatives.
• Optional: Develop HW Test Tools: create and maintain test scripts and automation.
